I
grew up in Louisville, Kentucky in a home full of music.
Whether
cleaning the house on Saturday
mornings or working on the car, there was always music in the air.
Since my parents were part of the first rock 'n roll generation, the
sounds of Elvis, Tom Jones, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry,
Simon & Garfunkel and many others from the '50s and '60s were
often on the household turntable. However, I was a child of the '70s
and '80s, so my early dreams of being like Elvis gave way to wanting
to write meaningful songs like those written by artists like Bruce
Springsteen, James Taylor, John Mellencamp, Sting, U2, and Mark Knopfler, among
countless others.The bottom line
for me is creativity. I thoroughly enjoy the creative process of
writing songs and producing records. Music has healed my spirit,
and allowed me to touch the hearts of others. I've
seen the power that music has and the positive impact that it makes on
lives, and I know that in some small way, my songs sometimes provide a
way for me to serve others. My hope is that my music will
somehow touch you, and maybe even inspire you. Who knows?
A song might help us find our way... |
